DR. ALEXIS E. DIXON

Alexis E. Dixon, MD is a board-certified Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon. She graduated valedictorian of her medical school class with Highest Distinction from the University of Southern California. Dr. Dixon completed her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at USC, with a significant portion of training at the Los Angeles County Medical Center, one of the largest and busiest trauma centers in the United States.

Dr. Dixon completed her fellowship in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgery at Baylor University in Dallas, one of the oldest and foremost Foot and Ankle fellowships in the country. She gained expertise in complex lower extremity reconstruction and injury management. Dr. Dixon is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. She has presented her research on issues in foot and ankle surgery at national meetings for both of these societies. Dr. Dixon was raised on Maui, Hawaii and received her Bachelor’s degree at Pomona College in Claremont, California. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Dixon treats all orthopaedic injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle. However, some chronic conditions, particularly around the heel, have traditionally provided limited options. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Dixon is able to provide the latest in technology for heel pain that has been persistent and difficult to cure. This quest for better care of these common conditions led to the creation of The Heal Institute in Marina del Rey.

In addition to treating patients in Marina del Rey, Dr. Dixon serves as an official team doctor for Red Bull North America and as a consulting physician for the Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas Aces and America’s Cup Sailing.

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I fell down some stairs moving furniture and seriously thought I broke my ankle. Got in that day to see Dixon and was NOT disappointed (my best friend loves her and suggested I see her for my ankle). She was so friendly, figured out my ankle was just severely sprained – not broken- and actually cared about what my best options for recovery were.
My follow up appointment was a breeze and because I followed her original instructions – I was back at running and working on my feet with ease and faster than I ever thought possible.
Dixon is awesome! She cares and is so real. I recommend her to everyone!

First saw Dr. Dixon for a peroneal tear that was healed over. She was my 4th doctor. All I needed was a custom orthotic. Got it, bought good arch support tennis shoes. After 6yrs. it greatly improved. Previous doctors I went to, I received cortisone injections, foot braces, and recommended to purchase an Amazon orthotic. 2nd problem – I broke my foot on a Sunday. Got in the next day for x-ray and diagnosis. I had 2 breaks in my foot. I was offered surgery which would have been a faster recovery but I opted for the 12 week boot. I’m pretty much out of it now. I love her!!! I’m in the medical field and I know how things work in a medical practice. They’re professional, nice office, nice assistant. I highly recommend her. Sent my sister to her and she also was very happy!
