We treat plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis with a gentle, non-invasive radiofrequency device.

Many people suffer from heel pain due to a variety of contributing factors, such as weight and activity level. Heel pain is generally caused by calf tightness which causes additional strain in the Achilles tendon and then wraps around to the plantar fascia. Repeated strain results in micro-tearing in these two areas and lays a lot of scar tissue. Calf stretches can help relieve the pain, but if left untreated for too long, it may not be enough. According to Dr. Dixon, 10% of people will have plantar fasciitis at some point in their lives that may last a year or two, but it can sometimes last longer if it’s not being treated. Achilles tendinitis is also very common and can lead to Achilles rupture if left untreated.

The most common course of action to reduce heel pain is to stretch the calf muscle. Patients may sometimes have difficulties stretching calves for many reasons based on biology, weight, and activity level. For patients with plantar fasciitis, if stretching the calf doesn’t work, there is no safe surgery to treat this condition. For Achilles tendinitis, surgery is available, but the recovery time could be up to one year. There have not traditionally been other non-invasive treatment options available for either of these common conditions.

We now offer a gentle, non-invasive radiofrequency treatment to treat plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis using the TempSure Envi by Cynosure. We are the only practice offering this revolutionary technology to treat these common conditions. The radiofrequency energy is safely delivered beneath the surface directly into the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon. This radiofrequency energy reduces pain and inflammation at the source, providing gentle pain relief without needles, surgery, or downtime.
